The proclamation of the Hungarian Republic on 23 October 1989 by the then Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary Mátyás Szűrös, brought the end of Stalinist rule and Hungarian dependence from the Russian Colonial Empire.

The Foundation of the Kingdom of Hungary in 1000 CE
King Saint Stephen was the last grand prince of the Hungarians between 997 and 1000 or 1001, and the first King of Hungary from 1000 until his death in 1038. the foundatuion of the kingdom of Hungary had been negotiated between the grand prince and the Holy Roman Emperor Otto III (r. 996–1002) and Pope Sylvester II (r. 999–1003).
There are basically 2 versions for the date of coronation of King Stephan: 17 Aug 1000 A.D. or the dates 25 Dec 1000 A.D. or 1 Jan 1001 A.D.
