Palmanova and the sea-shell archetype in Cancer

Palmanova is an excellent example of a Late Renaissance star fort. It was built by the Venetians near Udine, Italy and completed in 1593.

It was planned and construction begun by Wiliam of Orange aka The Silent to control the road between the spanish occupied city of Groningen and regions which today are located in modern Germany. The castle was completed in 1593 the same year as Palmanova.
