Astrology & Places: Gorilla Harambe Shot Dead in Cincinnati Zoo

I read a blog “Astrology and the death of Harambe the Gorilla” by astrologer Matthew Currie providing relevant time data. Matthew states that Harambe was born May 27, 1999 in Brownsville, Texas. Thanks for that!!!

The time data for the shooting of Harambe provided by the Cincinnati Enquirer was 16:00.

Harambe was born with the  Sun as the indicator for the center of his self-image and personality together with Mercury in opposition to Pluto the planet of pain and trauma. In this constellation Pluto marks the limitation of personal self-expression,  options for personal experiences and chance to decide freely. In a psychological as well as in a karmic sense Pluto as the planetary indicator for patterns of role behaviour stands for the personal experience of being born behind the bars of a zoo and destined for living a life in a “perceived reality”  (virtual reality) determined by another species.

The second hindering constellation of the day of Harambe´s birth was the Mars-Jupiter opposition. Jupiter as the indicator of the so called “luck” represents what is to be seen as the subjective momentary pleasure and happiness of being rewarded with food and love from that other species. In a Jupiter Mars opposition that luck is granted not through living one`s own Mars as a rudimentary capacity to fight for survival against rivals or for defending one´s place in social group hierachy.  Mars in opposition to Jupiter though indicating a block of Mars energies stands for depending on a superior dominant factor to get delicious food. The fact that Mars is not in his own sign Aries here – but actually opposing a  planet in his own sign – indicates that Harambe was already born with the information of waiting for attacks but not with the unhindered strategy of attacking first.

The accident and the shooting

From the wiki page about Cincinnati Zoo: “On May 28, 2016, Harambe, a 17-year-old, 200-kilogram (440 lb) male critically endangered silverback gorilla, was fatally shot by zoo officials after four-year-old Isiah Dickerson boy slipped into the enclosure where Harambe was. Zoo director Thane Maynard stated, “The child was being dragged around … His head was banging on concrete. This was not a gentle thing. The child was at risk.” The shooting was controversial, with some observers stating that it was not clear whether or not Harambe was likely to harm the child, and others calling for the boy’s parents and/or the zoo to be held accountable for the gorilla’s death.”

It can be imagined that authorities could not wait for the gorilla to let the boy leave or be saved by their staff as the legal situation would always consider a human life to be more valuable than any animal. And imagine the financial costs and possible damage to the zoo caused by a human casualty. The decision to kill the animal was tragical and very sad though.

The Moon as the ruler of house 10 appears as a decisive factor for the outcome of the incident. It`s position in house 5 on the last degree of Aquarius fell in exact square with Mars on the cusp of house 3 explaing the situation as extremely injust and against emotional values. The Mars – Moon aspect also explains the enormous potential that the incident provided for projecting any subjective personally felt emotional injustice onto it.

The position of the Moon in house 5 indicates that the decision to shoot was taken intuitively and without much thinking. In regard to the gorilla`s behaviour the Moon in the house of children (house 5) and on the last degree of Aquarius the sign of abstraction could well be intepreted as an intention to protect the child from the screaming seemingly hostile audience. Aquarius could stand for a perspective that goes beyond the bondaries of the species to which a being belongs. For the subjective perspective of Harambe as indicated by that Moon position he could possibly have experienced the screaming and aggressive excitement of the spectators through the lens of the threatening square position of Mars in Scorpio .
