Checkerboard Mesa and the combination of Scorpio with Gemini
Checkerboard Mesa is a gigantic Navajo Sandstone Rock in Zion Canyon National Park in Utah.
Astrogeographic position for field level 3 which explains how the mountain is embedded in the area:
- Checkerboard Mesa is located in solid, fixed water sign Scorpio the sign of sculpting, strongholds and indicator for the stout, fortresslike shape of the rock and the dominatn way it is facing the road at it`s feet.
- The 2nd astrogeographical coordinate of the site is in movable air sign Gemini sign of signposts, roads, road-crossings and confrontation of opposite elements which explains the contrast of the fat, solid shape of the rock with open space at the crossing of Zion Canyon with two smaller canyons overlooked by Checkerboard Mesa.
Angels` Landing In Scorpio with Gemini
Another famous and highly impressive rock in Zion´s National Park is “Angel´s Landing” known earlier as the Temple of Aeolus (wind god), It rises 454 m above thr ground from ground of the canyon. A trail cut into solid rock in 1926 leads to the top of Angels Landing and provides a spectacular view of Zion Canyon. The trail to Angels Landing is a very popular hike for visitors to the park.

The association of the site with a temple of the wind god Aeolus relates to the correspondence of the wind god with air sign Gemini. It reminds me of the resonance of Gemini with Hanuman the son of Hindu wind god Vayu and the position of his tallest statue in Gemini.
