The explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling plattform took place on April 20 2010, 21:45 around 200 km southeast of New Orleans (exact position : 28.73667 North and 88.38716 West). The Water depth here is 1500 m and the drilling had reached 5500 metres below the sea ground.
The astrogeographical position of the site where the Deep Water Horizon explosion took place for morphogenetic field level 1 which describes the supraregional, international and worldwide resonanceof the accident: drilling took place is 19° Aquarius and 0° Taurus. This astrogeographical field level has to be considered here not only because of the enormous size of the “Makondo” Prospect and because of the outstretched oil pollution effected by the explosion but also because of the worldwide awareness about the incident. In this astrological combination of signs Taurus the sign of the earth, grounding, growing roots, profits is in exchange with Aquarius the sign of the sky, heaven, open air, farting and release of stored gases.
In an astrological chart the IC (Inner Heaven) represents the ground below the incident. As water sign Pisces the sign of the ocean occupied the IC during the accident the coincidence between the astrological sign that describes the space underneath the drilling platform and the actual element (seawater) is straight. As Jupiter was the ruler of the ascendant his position in house 4 and near the IC is to be seen as the indicator for the drilling here. Uranus the most important planetary indicator for explosions (blowouts) was conjunct Jupiter in house 4.
The accident came on a day that when the Sun had just ingressed into Taurus and was moving over the the degree of the exact astrogeographic position of the site of the disater. Not only is the Sun the astrological indicator for light but it is also the bringer of light for all things that occur on our planet.
Therefore the Sun´s passing over the astrogeographic coordinate of the place is to be interpreted as the Sun bringing light to the place. The oil ressources found under the sea ground represent stored solar energy and light whereas in astrological terms the ocean stands for Neptune who represents darkness. Taking these aspects into consideration the event may be seen as a process and situation where stored sunlight hidden beneath darkness was set free. This wording may sound naive but it is a good start for an interpretation and could be useful for further astrological understanding of the incident.
The position of 0° which means the beginning of Taurus generally indicates the starting phase of the purposes of conquering land and of making money. In combination with Aquarius it hints at the topic of seeking new ways, possibilities and even new dimensions for making money. For this motif compare also the Sun being in the position of 0° Taurus in the birth chart of Hitler while Uranus the ruler of Aquarius was conjunct the ascendant on April 20 1889, 18:30, Braunau (Austria).
The opposition of Uranus with Saturn is another central astrological description for the reasons why the explosion or “Blowout” occured. Saturn in house 10 and in the last degree of Virgo stands in the position to be related to the sealable lid on top of the drilling pipe here while Uranus in house 4 was in a position below the platform or even below the ocean at the lower end of the drilling pipe. Saturn as the ruler of earth sign Capricorn the sign of rocks stands for solid material, control and impediments of the blowout while Uranus the ruler of air sign Aquarius is an indicator for gas. The Blowout can so be observed here as a result of the tension between these two astrological factors and components.
