The Sechin Bajo plaza + ruins, Casma, Peru around 330 km north of the capital Lima were built starting from 3,600 BC and only discovered as recently as February 2008. They currently represent the oldest structures ever found in the Americas. The site is supposed to have been inhabited between 3600 and 100 B.C.
